Getting Started
+ What is Glim?
Glim is a smart VPN accelerator. With Smart Mode, you can keep it always on while it automatically handles multiple apps at once—no constant switching.
+ What modes are available in Glim?
- Global Mode (security-first): Encrypts all device traffic. Pick a region and route everything through it—ideal for public or untrusted Wi‑Fi.
- Smart Mode (balanced): Separates local vs. international/service traffic, then chooses the best route for each. To preserve speed and compatibility for local apps (e.g., banking), not every request goes inside the VPN tunnel in Smart Mode.
+ When should I use each mode?
- Global Mode: On public or untrusted Wi‑Fi—one tap enables full-device encryption.
- Smart Mode: Everyday on trusted/home or office networks—accelerate selected apps/services while keeping local ones direct.
+ How does Smart Mode work?
It identifies domestic vs. international and certain service-level traffic, then auto-routes (or follows your custom rules). It’s engineered to be always-on and battery-friendly.
+ What is Orbits?
Orbits groups related domains into one Service (e.g., a streaming or AI platform) and builds per‑service routing rules—accelerate what you need, keep everything else direct. It runs on device, keeps no logs, and you can turn it off anytime.
+ Orbits didn’t detect the service I need—what can I do?
Use Global Mode temporarily.
Privacy & Security
+ Do you log my activity?
No. Glim follows a strict no-logs policy for VPN activity. Routing logic for Smart Mode and Orbits runs on your device.
+ What does “on-device intelligence” mean?
It means traffic classification and routing decisions happen locally on your device. We don’t send your traffic patterns or usage habits to our servers.
+ What data does Glim collect?
Only the minimum to run the service (e.g., email for login, app/device version, aggregate bandwidth totals). No browsing history, DNS queries, or content of communications.
Control & Features
+ Can I choose which apps/services are accelerated?
Yes. With Orbits, keep it fully automatic or apply per‑service rules. In Smart Mode you can also override the region per service.
+ Can I pick a specific server location?
Yes in Global Mode. In Smart Mode, Glim chooses automatically to balance speed and access—you can still override with a region or per‑service rule.
+ What happens if Orbits is paused or turned off?
Existing rules continue to work; no new grouping occurs until you resume. Turning Orbits off doesn’t disable Smart/Global Mode.
+ How many devices are supported?
Up to 5 devices per account for personal, non‑commercial use.
Performance & Battery
+ Will Glim slow down my local apps?
In Smart Mode, local apps stay direct for best speed and compatibility.
+ Is it okay to keep Glim on all day?
Yes. Glim is designed for always‑on, battery‑friendly operation.
+ Why does my speed vary?
Speed depends on network conditions, distance to servers, and app/provider limits. Try another location, reconnect, or review the relevant Service rule.
Platforms & Availability
+ Which platforms are supported?
iPhone (iOS 15.6+), iPad, and Android 12.0+ phones & tablets. Feature availability may vary by platform due to OS constraints.
+ Does Glim work everywhere?
Availability and features vary by country/region and local regulations. Glim is intended for lawful, compliant use only.
Subscription & Billing
+ What plans are available?
We currently offer a Core plan. Pricing (monthly/yearly) and regional offers are shown in the app.
+ How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Manage anytime in Apple Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions (iOS) or Google Play > Payments & subscriptions (Android). For web purchases via Stripe, manage in‑app or contact support.
+ Is there a free plan?
No long‑term free plan. We may run limited trial promotions—see the app.
+ How do refunds work?
Refunds follow the rules of your purchasing platform (Apple/Google) or the web provider (Stripe) in your region.
Troubleshooting
+ A site/app isn’t accelerating as expected—what can I try?
- Ensure Orbits isn’t paused.
- Try Global Mode temporarily.
- Check or edit the relevant Service rule (or add a custom service with the domains you need).
- Reconnect or choose another location.
- On Android, check for conflicting Private DNS; on iOS, confirm VPN permissions are granted.
+ The app can’t connect or drops often—how do I fix it?
- Toggle airplane mode, then reconnect Glim.
- Try another region.
- Reboot your device or router.
- Disable aggressive power saving/battery optimization for Glim (especially on Android).
- If issues persist, use Help Center → Report an Issue in the app to send an optional redacted diagnostic.
